Self Directed Support

The Enablement Project has been involved in supporting deafblind people with Self Directed Support (SDS).

SDS promises to deliver more appropriate services, giving people more control, flexibility, and choice over their services.

SDS requires people who receive services to be reassessed. Deafblind Scotland exists to advocate for and explain difficulties encountered by deafblind people. In many instances services for single sensory impaired people, may not be the best solution for deafblind people.

The enablement project will provide information about SDS, guide members through the assessment process and support them in meetings as assessments.
