Diary of Events

The Edinburgh Marathon on Sunday 12th June marks the start of this colourful week of activities! If you’re feeling fit you can enter to run the 26 miles or there is an option of sharing the distance by entering as a member of a relay team of four!

The Quality Hotel in Perth is the venue for Deafblind Scotland’s Annual Forum 'Improving Lives’ on Monday 13th June. The Forum proves year after year to be a lively and informative conference, a definite date for the diary.

Red and White Day, Wednesday 15th June, promotes the message of Red and White. Red and White means dual sensory impairment. Now is the time to start organising a red and white event for your school or place of work. You could:

  • Raise sponsorship by wearing red and white clothes for the day, could wear something wacky and fun!
  • Display one of Deafblind Scotland’s Red and White week posters
  • Come up with your own Red and White Idea!

Our Annual Ride and Seek in association with Bike-Wise of Kirkintilloch takes place on Saturday 18th June. Now in its fifth year, this family favourite gives participants the chance to cycle 14.5 miles along the canal path of the Forth & Clyde Canal, from Kirkintilloch to the Falkirk Wheel. Whoever is best at spotting clues along the way is in line for a super prize of £100 gift voucher for Bike-Wise.

Red and White Week ends on Sunday 19th June. You can still get involved! What about taking part in the Great Scottish Walk, a 12 mile walk around Edinburgh and raise sponsorship for Deafblind Scotland or for the more adventurous, what about White Water Rafting in Perth both on the final day of Red and White Week, 19th June.
