Iceland Trek
6th - 24th August 08 (9 days, 8 nights)

Never been north of Inverness? Deafblind Scotland gives you the opportunity to explore different latitudes and experience trekking in the Arctic Circle; and what better way to soothe your tired muscles after trekking over Icelandic glaciers than to soak up the scenery whilst relaxing in bubbling hot springs?

With its striking volcanic landscape dotted with streaming lava fields, icecaps, glaciers, waterfalls and geysers, the stunning Icelandic vista is one you will never forget. See some of the most spectacular wilderness areas in Europe, meet new friends and raise funds for Deafblind Scotland!

People from all walks of life take part in this challenge but it's important that you train beforehand so that you get the most out of the trek. A suggested training plan is available and trek staff can also provide training tips, as required.

Participants must pay an initial deposit of £299 and then raise a minimum sponsorship of £2500 but don’t stress out about raising the funds; once you get started you’ll realise it’s quite straightforward given you are doing something amazing and we’ll be on hand to give you examples and ideas of how to do it in an enjoyable way.

Included in the price: flights and all interval travel, accommodation, camping equipment, all food (except 3 meals), water, refreshments, guides, a doctor and medical support.
