Deafblind Scotland's 2nd Canal 10k Race and 5k Fun Run

Saturday 10th May Leisuredrome, Bishopbriggs

Last weekend, runners from all over the country participated in Deafblind Scotland's annual 10k Canal Race and 5k Fun Run in glorious sunshine along the paths of the Forth and Clyde Canal in East Dunbartonshire.

We had a great turn-out with 126 runners competing in the 10k and 55 taking part in the 5k, including several deafblind participants with their guides. Thus far, runners have raised over £2,000 in sponsorship for Deafblind Scotland with more still to come.

Drena O'Malley (Resources Officer) said, "We were delighted we got such a good day for the event and and that we attracted runners from far and wide, many of whom were very impressed with the nature and setting of the course; hopefully, the event will continue to grow in popularity next year. Many thanks to the members of Springburn Harriers who helped co-ordinate the runs."
