The heat was on

The determination shown by Stephen Joyce to run the Edinburgh Marathon in spite of his deafblindness has become a real talking point following his appearance in quite a few newspapers, most recently the Falkirk Herald. Stephen, who is Deafblind Scotland’s Training Manager, managed to finish the race in 4 hours 45 minutes – a real achievement given the sweltering conditions. It was particularly tough for runners and five people ended up in hospital suffering from dehydration. Well done to Stephen for persevering – he’s raised more than £500 for Deafblind Scotland.
