Tax Credit Office refuse to speak to a deafblind woman

The plight of Fiona Linton, a deafblind woman from Dundee, has caught national media attention. Fiona, who communicates through a guide communicator, was refused service on a Tax Credit helpline as the Tax office would not speak to anyone but Fiona herself.

As Fiona requires a guide communicator to communicate, she was unable to claim her benefits for three months until her local MP got involved with her case.
