The aim of the PA is to provide assistance and support to the Chief Executive with the goal of maximising the efficiency and effectiveness of his/her management of the existing Scottish operation and his/her efforts to develop services within Scotland.
Principal duties and responsibilities

To offer full secretarial support to the Chief Executive including word
processing of letters, papers, reports and other copy, maintaining databases,
filing systems and making travel arrangements.
• To maintain an efficient and up to date timetable of activity for the Chief Executive, arranging meetings and ensure that relevant support documentation is prepared and where necessary interpreters are booked.
• To be responsible for the administration and maintenance of the personnel function of the organisation in accordance with current employment law.
• To offer secretarial support to the Board of Directors, ensuring paperwork is sent to the directors in the appropriate format, ie. large print, braille, moon.
• Take minutes of meetings in a range of settings as required.
• Ensuring that there is a proper flow of information to and from the Chief Executive.
• Offer an effective and efficient answering service, receiving calls, dealing with appropriate enquiries independently, keeping abreast of events in order to be able to respond quickly and appropriately to external callers.
• To collate information for staff e-newsletters.
• Any other tasks, as deemed appropriate, requested by the Chief Executive.
1. Secretarial skills to a quality acceptable to the Chief Executive including a high level of expertise in Word, Access, Excel and Powerpoint.
2. A professional approach to all aspects of work, reflected in attitude, interpersonal skills and work output.
3. Experience of HR Administration and employment law would be an advantage, if necessary training will be given.
4. A flexible attitude to work in keeping with working for a small charity serving deafblind people is essential.
5. A willingness to undertake occasional travel and to work outside normal hours if required.
6. A clean driving licence would be advantageous.
