Bob Puts His Feet Down

Well done to eafblind Scotland's Chairman, Bob Nolan, and his Guide, Nick Hayward, who came 3957/8th out of the 50,00 competitors taking part in the Great North Run in Newcastle.  The half marathon, which took place on 30th September, appeals to serious atheletes, celebrities and fun runners alike.  Not quite sure which category Bob falls into!  He completed the race in 1:46:01 so perhaps not a fun runner!

Bob has Usher Syndrome, which means he was born with a hearing loss and his vision is now deteriorating too.  As his Guide, Nick's role was to alert Bob to any unforeseen obstacles, enabling Bob to take part and complete the race safely.
